| Never underestimate the power of an All-Knowing God :)Wow! I know, I know I haven't written anything here all summer. Guilty as charged :(. Moving beyond that, this summer has been pretty amazing considering how it started. I feel totally blessed to have been home with a family that I cherish and to enjoy time with friends in the 'Ville. God is pretty amazing and all fulfilling even in times of want or uncertainty. Praise Him!
As I start this fall (my last year of school :) I am so excited about the opportunities that God has blessed me with! These past two days we had LIFE group retreat for the LGL and it rocked! It was amazing to read through the material and prepare for the freshman that we are going to impact this fall through the Spirit and Jesus Christ. I know how awesome a God I serve so I can only imagine what he has in store for my life and the lives of those I will ministering too with my LGP this fall.
This is a verse that we read this morning in our devotions :
But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and manifests through us the sweet aroma of the knowledge of Him in every place. 15 For we are a fragrance of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing; 16 to the one an aroma from death to death, to the other an aroma from life to life. And who is adequate for these things? 17 For we are not like many, peddling[4] the word of God, but as from sincerity, but as from God, we speak in Christ in the sight of God. Are we beginning to commend ourselves again? Or do we need, as some, letters of commendation to you or from you? 2 You are our letter, written in our hearts, known and read by all men; 3 being manifested that you are a letter of Christ, cared[1][Lit served ] for by us, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human[2][Lit hearts of flesh ] hearts. 4 Such confidence we have through Christ toward God. 5 Not that we are adequate in ourselves to consider anything as coming from ourselves, but our adequacy is from God, 6 who also made us adequate as servants of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.
This is 2 Corinthians 2:14-3:6 and it just talks about our inadequacy as humans to handle things solely through our own power. It is so reassuring to know that we can't and aren't able to do it through our own strength. Well, I am off to bed before the start of another busy day. |
